The Summer Solstice marks the beginning of summer and is the longest day and shortest night of the year. The Earth’s cycle shifts and our relationship to the sun changes, so from this day the days get shorter and the nights longer.
Solstice means “standing of the sun” and it represents a threshold of energising fullness. We are bathed in the powerful energy of the sun that allows inspiration and transformation.

As at this time the Earth is at the fullness of her strength, fertility, and abundance, people celebrate the solstice day with rituals, joining together, sharing to raise spiritual consciousness and offering gratitude for the abundance present in their lives.
It’s a day of light, known as one of the most powerful days of the year for spiritual growth and healing, because the sun represents the light of all life and consciousness.
For this reason, it’s a beautiful day to find a moment to pause and tune into that rich summer energy and connect more deeply with ourselves while aligning with the sun energy.
The Summer Solstice is a time of celebrating the fullness of life and taking the time to raise our energy to regenerate abundance and manifest our dreams.
Here are six simple but meaningful rituals to make the most of the powerful summer solstice and bring its energy into your life:
1. Watch the Sunrise
The rising sun symbolises a new beginning. In this particular day that we move forward into a brighter and warmer season, the energy is available to fuel whatever new beginnings you are experiencing at the moment.
The sun’s light with its fiery energy will gives extra power to easily progress on your dreams.
This is the perfect time to stop and immersed in the power of the sun be honest with yourself and contemplate your own view behind and ahead of the coming solar cycles.
Look back at your own path to recognise what has increased and became more bright and joyfully in your life.
Look ahead at what is to come together with your dreams and affirm all that you will permit yourself to be live more free and connected with yourself.
Watching the sun rising higher in the sky, close your eyes, paying attention to your breath and your body. Then imagine how the fiery sun energy invigorates your spirit, feel how the sun strengthen your inner connections and bring you closer to your dreams.

2. Go into the nature
Celebrate the fertility of the earth during this day. Explore nature’s ways to creatively imagine how the energy of the sun converts into your own vitality and enduring abundance.
Enjoy the sun simple making the time to connect with nature.
3. Get on the mat
The yoga tradition celebrates the solstice with a practice of 108 Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar). It’s a devotional practice to the sun and all it inspires, to the light of something greater supporting you.
You have excellent opportunity to connect with the sun changes and its energy.

4. Use the vital energy of the Sun
Place a jar or bowl filled with water in the Sun to be energised by the Solstice rays. Drink it in the afternoon to receive the vital energy of the Sun.
Place any gold jewellery you may have near a window to be recharged and blessed by the Solstice Sun.
5. Light a fire
Evoke the sun’s energy thought the fire element, it can be done by simply lighting a candle.
Lit your candle and take a few deep breaths to center and ground yourself. Reflect on what you would like to let go. What is no longer serving you that you are ready to burn it away? Get really clear on what you need to let go of. Take a moment and write these things down on a paper.
Gazing at your fire, take 3 deep breaths and read loud what is written on your paper. Read it one more time imagining the fierce, hot fire energy entering your spirit.
Toss your paper into the fire and while you watch it burn, envision that inner fire burning all those things away.
Once the paper is gone and the fire has burned those things away from you, begin to envision what your life looks like with these things now gone.
You can also go big with a collective celebration with a bonfire, where everyone participates burning their paper.
